I'm an award-winning senior producer at AJ+, the social video platform for Al Jazeera News, based in Washington D.C.

I lead field deployments for digital documentary films with a focus on social justice issues and racial inequality.

 

Prior to this, I worked as a Content Coach for Mobile for the Gannett/USA Today network, and before that, I was an Audience Development Manager for millennial-focused news websites Billy Penn and The Incline.

 

From 2008-2013, I lived and worked in Beirut, Lebanon while earning a Master’s degree in Middle East Studies. During that time,  I was the Executive Editor for lifestyle website Beirut.com. Before that, I worked as a reporter and blogger for English-Arabic news website NOW Lebanon.

I was a vocalist for the Lebanese funk-hip hop band, The Banana Cognacs, and am also a published author on the subject of Hip Hop: Nassar, Angeline. (2011). “Scratch That, This is OUR Soundtrack: Hip Hop in Lebanon.” In Samir & Roseanne Khalaf. Eds. Arab Youth: Social Mobilization in Times of Risk. (London: Saqi Books).

I started my career as a television news producer for a CBS-affiliate station in my hometown of Rochester, New York.
